Kamau Gachigi: Spreading African innovation through fab labs


Dr. Kamau Gachigi is the Coordinator of the University of Nairobi Science and Technology Park. He is both a lecturer and a researcher in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the College of Architecture and Engineer.
His current areas of research include activated carbon from agricultural wastes for use in affordable potable-water filtration, and investigation into value addition of titanium and iron bearing ores.

Dr. Gachigi also runs a FabLab which serves as a rapid prototyping center within the Science and Technology Park.

Prof. Ruth Nduati on 'Kenya Plans for eradication of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV'


Professor Ruth Nduati is an Associate Professor of Paediatrics at the School of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, University of Nairobi.

She is a Paediatrician and Epidemiologist who has taught at the University of Nairobi for many years.  Her major achievement is her contribution to the understanding of the epidemiology and biology of breast milk transmission of HIV and in integration of prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV in resource constrained settings.
